We are delighted to be taking part in the SuperKind programme – a Social Impact Schools Award to recognise and celebrate the amazing social actions and charity work that our children take part in throughout the school year.
Social action is a key part of personal and character development, encouraging children to think about others and to make a positive contribution to society.
As our school values are the driving force of every aspect of daily life at Oxley, we know that by being involved in things such as gestures of kindness, volunteering, campaigning, and fundraising, children will continue to grow while also benefiting and contributing to the world around them – demonstrating true social action!
There are 12 areas of social action that children are working to earn badges in. These are:

Each time a child completes a social action in school or at home, they earn a bronze badge. When that social action is completed again, they will gain silver until eventually, with outstanding contributions, they will complete the section with gold. This means each child can earn up to 36 badges!

Each half term, we will celebrate our star “Change Maker” with a certificate and a pin badge they can wear with pride.
We need you too! We wish for our children to recognise that they are global citizens and that their actions aren’t confined to the classroom. Encouraging social action at home in everyday life is just as important in creating change and earning those important badges!
What can you do at home?
Lots of other ideas can be found in the “Take Action” toolkits: https://superkind.org/take-action
If your child completes any social action at home, please complete one of the “Action Report” sheets. These are available at school, and your child will be able to take copies home as often as needed.
Staff will add badges for in-school activities and achievements simultaneously.
