In the Tiger’s class, we work hard to develop our independence and initiative. During our learning, we strive to be active learners: enquiring to deepen our understanding, being involved in-class discussions, and supporting our peers when they need help.
We have lots of exciting topics to learn about this year, including: how the Ancient Greeks impacted the world and investigating how and why are local environment is changing.
The arts will be showcased again this year, through our music lessons – in particular when we learn how to play ukuleles and through art and DT lessons during which we will be working in three dimensions making our own stop frame animation from scratch. We will continue to build upon our prior knowledge and keep working to build our own specific style.
Our hands-on science lessons will help us understand the topics in more depth and so we will continue to become budding scientists. This year, we will be learning about a wealth of topics, including skeletons and movement, nutrition and healthy eating and finally delving into the fascinating subject of biodiversity.
Our love of reading will be threaded throughout our curriculum. Not only within our English lessons – through novel studies but also in other subjects, such as PSHE. These texts will help us relate to the subject at hand and to have a greater understanding of people and the world around us.
Whilst we continue to develop our own personal skills and individuality, we know that being a Tiger is a safe and supportive space to learn and a team for life.
