Wear your own clothes (Christmassy clothes if you wish!) and donate something for our class Christmas hampers if you are able. This can be large or small; unwanted gifts, toys, bottles, toiletries etc; however, we ask that items are sealed and in date please. We will either add these to one of our magnificent hampers or use them as a standalone prize. If you are able, we would very much appreciate children in the following classes donating:
Penguins: Toddler/baby items
Koalas: Children’s items
Hedgehogs: Children’s items
Owls: Christmas items
Leopards: Adults’ items
Elephants: Warm Winter items
Tigers: Wine Hamper
Lemurs: Sweets & Chocolate
Foxes: Wine Hamper
Lions: Adults’ items
The children will run, hop, skip etc. around the playground as many times as they can during their class slot. Sponsorship forms should be returned to school with any monies no later than 15th December. Parents/carers/grandparents and friends can sponsor either per lap or simply pledge a total amount. This event is a great way to have some fun whilst being active and with so many of our children asking for it to happen again this year, we hope it will be just as successful and enjoyable and fingers crossed, the weather holds out for us! All money raised benefits our children and goes toward funding events across the year such as visitors to school, trips and also supports the cost of resources to support learning.
For parents who are new to the school, we would like to explain that this is an opportunity for children to select a present for a family member or friend as a secret gift. The children will be able to select from a wide range of gifts and will be able to write their own name tag for their loved one. All gifts will be priced at £3 and must be purchased via your Weduc Offers section. Our house captains will be ready to support our youngest children with writing name tags.

“Oxley Primary School aims to provide a caring, secure and stimulating environment in which
all children can achieve the highest academic, personal and social standards, reaching their
individual goals through a close partnership between home and school.”
A huge thank you to our school council who interviewed a real member of parliament today! All of their questions were their own and they did not hold back! We're incredibly grateful for the time Mrs Hunt spent with us explaining how parliament works and the role of an MP.
And just like that, our KS2 children lit up the room with a fabulous carol service full of celebration and song. You all looked wonderful and sang beautifully!
As a special Christmas treat, we decided to choose 5 winners per class this morning - that’s over 50 books to take home and cherish. A huge well done to our fabulous winners. Next year, we will be changing the way we do things so make sure you all keep reading! Watch this space…
Oxley is a nurturing and welcoming school that provides an engaging learning environment where our children can excel. Our children enjoy coming to school and are central to our school community which holds a strong team ethos that is centred around our school motto:
These three, powerful messages are at the heart of everything we do in school. It helps us build resilience, teamwork, and a close family environment, which ensures each pupil can reach their full potential. Everyone – the children, staff, parents, and governors – share this common sense of purpose. It enables children to approach their learning with positivity and spurs them on to achieve more than they thought possible.
If you would like to find out more about our school or want to visit us and see for yourself what everyday positivity looks like at Oxley, please do not hesitate to contact us. We hope you enjoy looking at our website and finding out more about what we do here!
