In the Elephants class, we love to learn new facts, we work hard and we always try our best! We do this in several different sessions such as being historians, geographers, mathematicians, scientists, writers, readers, and many more. We always work together to build relationships and maintain them while constantly showing the values of a true Oxley pupil, being kind, being brilliant, and having an ‘I Can’ attitude.
In our lessons, we participate, discuss and learn a variety of new ideas. We are encouraged to discuss current worldwide topics and debate past topics, delving into the pros and cons of people’s thoughts and actions.
We Elephants love to read! We visit the school library to listen to teachers read a book, enjoy reading quietly, or recommend books that we have read to our peers. Every day, we listen to a new chapter of our class story and it’s always left on a cliffhanger every time…
Throughout all of our topics, we use practical resources to help us understand concepts and we enjoy watching videos, especially videos about history to see what our world used to be like. We like to get involved with our learning and do a lot of role play, freeze frames, and dance to make our learning memorable.
